Sweet Exposure

So, before we had Avery, my mom wanted us to get some photos taken. "You'll regret it if you dont have some pictures of when you were pregnant," she said. I wasn't that crazy about the idea, but she said she would pay if we got some made. Okay.....
We found a photographer who did a great job. We actually went to high school with Courtney. It was nice to have someone that we knew taking our pregnancy picture - the whole process wasn't as akward as I thought. When I looked at her gallery though, I was a little worried. I DID NOT want pictures with any of my clothes off!!! BAHH. But, it turned out to be just fine and our pictures - I wouldn't say (because I was the HUGE one...) but our families say - were beautiful!
I won't post all of them, but here are some of my favorite pregnany photos:
I didn't really realize how big I looked until after these pictures were taken. WOW. At least it was just my tummy!! This is probably one of my most favorite ones.
strange angle... but I think that's what makes this one a cool picture.
I really like those pictures that are all black and white except for one image in the frame. So, you can bet that this one is at the top of my list.
I love the tummy to tummy ones. If we had waited any longer, Alex's tummy might have been as big as mine! ... Just kidding... :)
Notice how we're never looking at the camera?! She couldn't get one of us where I wasn't blinking!! BAHH

After looking at some of Courtney's other galleries, we decided we'd like to have some done at the hospital. Not of the birth and what not, but of Avery after his birth - being cleaned and them taking his height and weight and all that. Turns out, he took SO long and we had SO many false alarms that we ended up not getting the pics done. Courtney actually had plans that night and her back-up had a restless baby herself... so we sent her home. No Pics of Avery's birth.
Since we didn't get those, we thought the newborn ones would be a really good alternative. SO we decided to have Courtney take those for us. What an experience.
Avery was naked for all of the pictures and he loved every minute of it. Not only that he decided that being naked makes for the best time to go the bathroom. He did BOTH. I'm sure you can imagine... The worst ON me and the not so bad on one of Courtney's sheets. Thanks, Avery
Here are some of my favorite newborn pics:
He is so photogenic... didn't get that from me.... Cute little butt.... It took us SO long to get him to keep his feet crossed long enough for her to get the shot. Unbelievable.
One of my most favorites. Again, you notice how we're NOT looking at the camera... that whole blinking thing - dang it!
I'm pretty sure Alex had most of Avery's weight in this one!!
I absolutely LOVE the ones with the wedding rings - problem is.... Alex wasn't wearing his!!! So, we could only put mine on his little toes!
(Alex has to take his ring off at work, so it wont get scratched and ruined - so, it was still in his pocket in the pants he had changed out of at home...)
He is so long that his legs were all scrunched up and his head was almost hanging over my knees.... so crazy.
Love It.
Except when we put him on this bench he was inch worming across it. Hello... you're too little to crawl yet, Avery!!

Car Chat

We have recently realized that my vehicle is probably going to die soon. This morning I was leaving to go to school and it wouldn't start. We are thinking it may just be the battery and we can jump it off.... but who knows what will follow that. This could be the beginning of the end. We never know. When things come up, we try not to talk bad about it because when we do - things usually get worse! Does any one else believe that cars have their own personality!? :)

So, with this realization every now and then we'll check around and see what kind of deals are out there... especially right now when dealerships are trying to get rid of cars left and right. Unfortunately, we can't afford TOO much. It's a real bummer when something like this happens and you're both poor college students with a new baby.

Anyhow, while I was at school this morning Alex spent some time looking online to see what he could find. Not that we are car shopping, we'll probably just jump my battery and go from there. Whatever happens, happens. But, he was looking around and when I got home he thought he'd show me. We've found that places that list cars online dont always put the price because they want you to contact them - of course. Well, we don't really want to contact anyone, we just want to know the price - you know, why get your hopes up for something that will just let you down. If I have to call to get the price, I may just be really disappointed when I find out its WAY out our price range....

Moving on.... we were at this one site and it had this icon that you could click on to talk to a representative. Alex and I looked at eachother and then he clicked. What the HECK!! It was totally an instant message chat box. Alex was chatting with this lady about the car. Unbelievable. It ultimately came down to her asking him for his information so she could call him, but I thought it was really funny that they talking in this chat like ol' buds. Haha. It's amazing the things you can do these days.

So, I'm pretty sure we are asking our families for donations to our new (well, new for us) car fund this year for Christmas... Keeping Avery safe is a lot more important than gifts, and I certainly don't want to be stranded on the side of the road with a baby and a dead car.

Wish us luck, that my little clunker doesn't die soon. :)
